Anita Borg has become one of the most influential figures in the fields of technology and women's advocacy. As the founder of the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology, Anita has helped advance women's rights in science using her personal research on gender issues in the workplace. That work led to the creation of Project Athena, which provided more than 100 scholarships to women to attend computer science and engineering programs at MIT and California Polytechnic University, including the famous class of 1989.
